To ensure accurate delivery when shipping to DHL Packstations in Germany and Austria, it's important that customers enter their Post Number(PostNummer) number correctly. Our new validation rule helps with this by prompting customers to input their Post-number in the correct field during checkout.

Step 1: Adjust Shopify Checkout Settings

To ensure the necessary fields are available during checkout, follow these steps:

  1. Enable the "Company" Field:

    • Go to your Shopify Admin.

    • Navigate to Settings > Checkout > Customer Information > Company Name.

    • Set the Company Name field to Optional.

  2. Enable the "Shipping Address Phone Number" Field:

    • Go to Settings > Checkout > Customer Information > Shipping Address Phone Number.

    • Set the Shipping Address Phone Number field to Optional.

Step 2: Enable the DHL Packstation Validation Rule

Once you've adjusted the checkout settings, activate the validation rule in Address Validator:

  1. Go to Shopify > Apps > Address Validator > Validation Rules.

  2. Enable the DHL Packstation validation rule.

What This Rule Does:

If the customer is shipping to a DHL Packstation, they will see a prompt saying:

"Please enter the customer number in the 'Company (optional) or customer number' field."

This ensures that the necessary Packstation information is correctly filled out, reducing the chance of delivery errors.

Conclusion:
With this new validation rule, you'll ensure that shipments to DHL Packstations are processed smoothly, minimizing delivery issues for your customers in Germany and Austria.
