Address Validator only validates the shipping address, not the billing address.

Q: What countries are covered?

A: Address Validator covers the following countries:

  • Austria

  • Australia

  • Belgium

  • Brazil

  • Canada

  • Czech Republic

  • Denmark

  • Estonia

  • Finland

  • France

  • Germany

  • Greece

  • Italy

  • Mexico

  • Netherlands

  • New Zealand

  • Norway

  • Portugal

  • South Africa

  • Spain

  • Switzerland

  • Sweden

  • United Kingdom

  • United States

We add new countries based on data availability and merchants' needs. If you need address validation for a specific country, please send us a note with the country and your approximate monthly order volume at [email protected]

Q: What checkouts are covered?

A: Address Validator only processes orders that go through the standard Shopify and ReCharge checkouts. It cannot process orders that go through the following:

  • Bold Cashier

  • One-Click Upsell by Zipify

Q: How about express payment methods?

A: When customers pay with express payment methods (ie Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal), they are able to bypass the first step of checkout where the validation happens for Shopify Plus merchants. Therefore, these orders are processed on the Thank You page post-checkout.

Q: What about addresses not processed by Address Validator?

A: Customers will proceed as if Address Validator was not installed and the shipping addresses will not be validated.

Q: What orders will I be charged for?

A: You will be charged for all orders processed, regardless if the original address is correct. The app does not know if an address is correct without going through the validation process. If you opt to validate addresses during checkout, an order is considered processed once the customer submits the shipping address. The customer may drop out of the checkout at a later step or submit a new address. In either case, only one charge will be applied, even if the customer changes the shipping address multiple times.
